Expanded Coverage for Greece and Malta
- All European subscribers can now download AIPs for Greece and Malta, which include IFR and VFR procedure charts, airport diagrams, documents, and IFR high and low enroute charts for Malta. Jeppesen’s IFR and VFR aeronautical data is also included for both countries.
Big Changes to Documents
Documents take center stage in this release with a new, more flexible interface, support for documents on iPhone, and syncing of documents, bookmarks, and annotations across all your devices.
Enhanced Documents Management
- The new Documents interface makes it easier to find, download, and access documents.
- The Catalog is now a collapsible drawer on the left side of the screen that allows you to quickly move between your custom Binders and “Drives”, a new paradigm for accessing country- and provider-specific documents.
- Drives serve a dual purpose as a place where you can both select which documents to download, and also access those documents after you download them. Binders are no longer required to store your downloaded documents, so you can access documents in the same place as you download them.
- Binders and Drives provide both a tiled view showing a thumbnail of each document, and a condensed list view that only shows each document’s name.
- Drives also support nested folders, allowing you to download documents individually, or select the entire folder for download. This also applies to Cloud Document folders, so any subfolders within your linked cloud storage account will sync to ForeFlight. Cloud Documents are available with Pro Plus plans and above.
- Finally, all documents are now included in ForeFlight’s unified App Search, so you can easily find and view them from other app views.
Documents on iPhone
- The enhanced Documents view is also available on iPhone, with the same organization and features as on iPad.
- The Documents tab takes the place of the Imagery tab on iPhone at the center of the navigation bar, and the Imagery view is now accessible from the top of the More view on iPhone.
Document Syncing
- ForeFlight will now sync annotations, bookmarks, binders, and a document’s position within a binder across all the devices on your account, making it easy to keep all of your documents in order and up to date across your devices.
- Documents that you import to ForeFlight on one device will be available for download across all your devices, and are stored securely in the ForeFlight Cloud to protect against data loss.
GeoPDF Support
- Import your custom procedures and airport diagrams as geospatial PDF files using Content Packs, BYOP folders, or as standalone files.
- Geospatial PDFs behave just like georeferenced charts available through ForeFlight, allowing you to view them in the Airports and Plates views, display them on the map, and see your position on them.
Flight Plan Filing Enhancements
- The Proceed to File button on the Flights view now brings up a filing form modal where you can edit and file your flight plan, replacing the previous half-screen filing form.
- The filing and briefing emails sent by ForeFlight after you file a flight plan are now combined to reduce inbox clutter and centralize information about your flight plans.
