This release includes new tappable airport markers in 3D Preview and 3D Review, allowing you to easily see and learn about airports along a planned or recorded flight.

Airport Markers in 3D

  • View airports along a planned or recorded flight and tap on them for more information in both 3D Preview and 3D Review.
  • You can disable airport markers in 3D from the Layer Selector in 3D Preview or Review, along with obstacles and forecast weather layers.
  • Airport markers in 3D use the same styles as airports on ForeFlight’s Aeronautical Map, indicating the type of airport and the presence of a control tower or available fuel based on the marker’s shape and color.
  • The Aeronautical Map’s Airport settings in Map Settings > Airports also determine which types of airports appear in 3D - e.g. disabling Heliports on the Aeronautical Map will also disable them in 3D.
  • Tap on any airport marker in 3D to view its information in the Maps Sidebar, which persists as you move the camera or play through the route. Tap the Close button or elsewhere on the screen to close the Sidebar.
  • Airport markers are not currently supported in 3D Airports or 3D Anywhere.
  • 3D Preview and 3D Review are included in ForeFlight Performance subscription plans.
