I fly both my own GA aircraft and also fly DC-10's all over the world and must say the information packed into foreflight is unchallenged in the industry. You have everything you need from looking at airport diagrams and charts to looking at real time wx radar for most airports METARS etc all in one spot. It even saves the airports you've looked at before in order of most recent to least recent - I can't say enough about the product and every time I've had a question they've responded via email within the day if not the hour. I wholeheartedly endorse this product.

"Unbelievable Product!"

I just passed my IFR checkride today and my examiner was blown away at what this application could do. We must have spent 15 mins going through everything and I am sure it helped give an impression of being very well prepared. Very impressive to have all this data that you need to make a go/no go decision without having to carry a laptop. The filing works great and is a breeze to use. I will use this program every time I fly.

"Excellent Weather and Flight Planning Tool"

This application provides a wealth of information for pilots, wannabe pilots, aviation buffs and weather buffs. It consolidates and presents a variety of information into a easy to use and extremely useful application.

The customer service of these folks is awesome too. I had some questions prior to buying the product and I emailed them and received a personal response from one of the actual developers within an hour. If you have any questions about the app I urge you to drop them an email before you purchase it. They are great! Also check out their website and read all the information and watch the demo videos that they have there.

No, it is not free, no it is not cheap. YES, it is high quality, well designed, well supported - worth every penny.

"Wow"

I got pointed to ForeFlight Mobile by a poster at the Pilots of America web forum. I've been wanting flight information software for my iPhone, and one look at FFM was all it took. Wow. That's what software for the iPhone should be: straightforward, clear, and intuitive.

"I haven't lost a single flight plan"

The most powerful aspect of File! for me is the updated status display showing within seconds if my flight plan was accepted and filed. In the past, before I started using File!, I found myself more than once, stuck on the ramp with Clearance Delivery saying that my flight plan did not make it into the system. I fly all over the country, filing an average of 15 flight plans a week, and since I switched to File! I haven't lost a single flight plan.

So what do I like about ForeFlight? Firstly, it fits into my planning workflow really well: I usually do the initial heavy lifting on my laptop, including filing a flight plan if I'm flying IFR, and then check again on the tarmac just before engine startup. ForeFlight works really well for this last stage, where you can do a last-minute spot check or sanity check without lugging a laptop around or calling flight services. It's also great for informally checking weather, airport information, etc., for an intended flight whenever and wherever you are (a cafe, a hangar, a wireless-free (as opposed to a free wireless) FBO, an office, etc.), and for prepping approaches informally before flying when you don't have the plates handy. And it'll let you file that last-minute flight plan, as long as you have a DUATS account.
