Profile view in ForeFlight now depicts airspace along your route, providing you with valuable information for flight planning and inflight use beyond terrain and obstacle avoidance. Profile view is available with Pro subscriptions and above.
Airspace Highlighting in ForeFlight helps declutter the map and keeps you aware of the airspace affecting your route.
ForeFlight provides advanced global airspace details for FIRs, UIRs, and other airspace types, with important information about frequencies, cruise altitudes, and operational notes.
You can declutter ForeFlight’s Aeronautical Map by hiding any airspace above a selected altitude, making it easier to focus on airspace closer to you. Combined with other airspace features like Auto Highlight and selectable airspace types, customizing the map to show only the most relevant airspace is easier than ever.
Easily locate frequencies for many kinds of controlled airspace on ForeFlight’s Maps view for quick inflight access. Tap-hold anywhere on the map to open the Add to Route popup, which lists any airspaces at the location you tapped. Those that have at least one associated frequency will include the frequency and its name at the bottom of that airspace’s summary, which you can tap to highlight the airspace on the map. If an airspace has more than one associated frequency it will indicate the number that are available. Tap the Details button to view these additional frequencies, as well as other information about that airspace. If there are more than four frequencies, tap All Frequencies at the bottom of the Communications sections to see the full list. Any frequencies designated as Secondary include a note indicating this.
Filing a flight plan into Washington DC's Special Flight Rules Area (SFRA) may seem daunting, but ForeFlight makes it nearly as easy as filing any other flight plan! Listen to Rob MacLeod, ForeFlight's FlightOps team lead, walk you through the process from initial planning and gate identification to filing the flight plan.
Flying in Europe has many unique challenges such as complex airspace structures, many sources of information, and a diverse patchwork of standards and regulations. Join Wolfgang Oestreich, Manager of ForeFlight’s European Pilot Support Team, to learn how ForeFlight can help you deal with these challenges for easier flight planning and flying. Topics include complex flight planning using features like Route Advisor, inflight features like traffic, weather, and hazard avoidance to assist your decision-making, and more. The session will include live Q&A and will be available for later viewing at foreflight.com/on-frequency.
ForeFlight’s Profile View offers a side-on perspective showing your route line and inflight progress in relation to terrain, obstacles, and airspace, supplementing the top-down map view and improving your situational awareness. Profile view is included in ForeFlight Pro plans and above.
