Aerial Refueling Tracks

ForeFlight Military Flight Bag displays Aerial Refueling Tracks for both training and operational use around the world, helping military pilots plan and conduct flights that include aerial refueling.

High Resolution Basemap

ForeFlight’s High Resolution Basemap depicts ground features and cultural elements in much greater detail for improved inflight reference. The default basemap provides a basic depiction of major roads and urban areas, while the High Resolution Basemap dramatically increases the level of detail, exposing minor roads and individual railway lines, increasing the resolution of coastlines and urban areas, and highlighting national parks and forests in green. The High Resolution Basemap also adds terrain peak markers with altitudes so you can easily identify the highest points in an area. You can disable these within Terrain settings in the Map Settings menu.

Takeoff & Landing Safety Distance Factor

ForeFlight’s Takeoff & Landing Performance feature allows you to specify a safety distance factor to produce more conservative runway performance calculations in response to runway conditions or other factors. Takeoff & Landing Performance is included in ForeFlight Performance plans and supports many piston and single-engine turboprop aircraft types.

AOPA FBO Fees

ForeFlight displays FBO fees from AOPA’s Airport Directory to help you make more informed flight planning decisions. Access an FBO’s fees from the FBO detail view by tapping the Fees tab. For each fee ForeFlight shows the type of fee and any notes on the left and the cost on the right. Fees that vary by aircraft type or other factors show a range of costs that you can tap into to see the full breakdown.

European Graphical NOTAMs

Pilots flying in Europe can view graphical enroute NOTAMs directly on the Maps view for improved flight planning and inflight situational awareness. Graphical NOTAMs are available with all European subscription plans.

3D Review

3D Review is a flight planning and debriefing capability that allows you to review planned and recorded flights with immersive 3D terrain and aerial imagery. Prepare for an upcoming flight by familiarizing yourself with landmarks and ground features along your planned route, and replay a past flight with pitch and bank data (if your Track Log is recorded with an AHRS capable device) to evaluate your maneuvers. 3D Review is available in ForeFlight Performance plans.

Map Annotations

Take notes on the fly and mark up charts using ForeFlight’s Map Annotations feature.

Track Log Review

Track Log Review in ForeFlight is an integrated flight debriefing tool that allows you to simultaneously view and compare multiple types of data throughout the flight, making it easy to assess maneuvers and other details.

Takeoff & Landing Performance

Takeoff and Landing Performance is a powerful flight planning capability that provides safety-enhancing runway performance calculations returned in seconds. Seamlessly integrated into ForeFlight’s flight planning workflow, Takeoff and Landing Performance incorporates aircraft performance and weather data to calculate important flight metrics and ensure they’re within the aircraft’s and runway’s limits. Takeoff and Landing Performance is included at no additional charge in ForeFlight’s Performance Plus plan.

Military Mission Planning Charts

ForeFlight MFB (the version of ForeFlight built for US government, military, and DOD aviation) now allows authorized and authenticated customers to download and display the worldwide library of US Department of Defense military mission planning charts, including Joint Operations Graphics (JOG), Tactical Pilot Charts (TPC), Operational Navigation Charts (ONC), and Range charts.

A new interactive Graphical Chart Manager makes it fast and easy to select and download only the desired charts from the thousands available in the library.

The charts use the newest format standard in military digital chart technology, developed by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, called Enhanced Compression Raster Graphics (ECRG), and when combined with ForeFlight’s compression process technology, results in faster over-the-air (wireless) downloads, less storage space, higher resolution, and quicker load times.

Bullseye in Military Flight Bag

Bullseye in ForeFlight Military Flight Bag is a versatile and powerful feature that simplifies mission planning and tactical decision-making. Bullseye is available with all Military Flight Bag subscription plans. Bullseye allows you to define an arbitrary point on the map and measure your own and other’s positions in relation to that point.

MFB
Import .CRD Files in Military Flight Bag

ForeFlight Military Flight Bag simplifies flight planning for all military aviators with support for importing .CRD flight plan files through a variety of secure methods, providing flexibility in diverse operational environments. ForeFlight MFB supports .CRD files from most mission planning systems, including CFPS, PFPS, and JMPS. After exporting the file, you can import it into ForeFlight via email, AirDrop, or iTunes.

Visit foreflight.com/mfb to learn more about what ForeFlight MFB can do for military aviators.

Military Flight Bag DD-1801 Filing

ForeFlight Military Flight Bag pilots can now file flight plans using the military’s official DD-1801 filing form directly through ForeFlight, greatly simplifying their preflight workflow and reducing reliance on paper. The DD-1801 filing form is available with all ForeFlight MFB subscription plans. DoD regulations often require that all pilots departing from a military field fill out and sign a DD-1801 flight plan form and submit it to base operations by hand, fax, or email. To simplify this process, ForeFlight will automatically generate a DD-1801 PDF with your flight’s details, then allow you to digitally sign it and send it via email to base ops.
